PMU Aftercare

After permanent makeup is applied, it’s important to follow proper aftercare instructions in order to promote healing. The specific aftercare instructions you receive will depend on the type of permanent makeup you received, as well as the type of pigments used. However, here are some general guidelines that are commonly recommended for aftercare following permanent makeup:

  1. Keep the treated area clean and dry: Avoid touching or picking at the treated area, and keep it clean and dry to prevent infection. You may be instructed to apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly or other ointment to the treated area to promote healing.
  2. Avoid sun exposure: Avoid excessive sun exposure for several weeks after the procedure, as this can cause the pigments to fade or change color. Wear a wide-brimmed hat or use an umbrella for shade if you are going to be outside for an extended period of time.
  3. Avoid swimming and saunas: Avoid swimming and saunas for at least two weeks after the procedure, as these activities can increase the risk of infection.
  4. Avoid using certain skincare products: Avoid using certain skincare products, such as exfoliating agents or glycolic acids, as these can cause the pigments to fade.
  5. Follow up with your permanent makeup artist: Follow up with your permanent makeup artist as instructed. They will be able to evaluate the healing process and make any necessary touch-ups or adjustments to the pigments.

It’s important to follow these aftercare instructions closely to promote healing.
